Sustainability Policy

At 22 Locations Ltd we believe the effective management of safety, health, environment, energy, carbon reduction, and responsible sourcing is of key importance to the sustained success of our business. We have a single sustainability policy, which is regularly reviewed and communicated to employees, contractors, key stakeholders and our supply chain to inform and promote wider adoption of responsible practices.

As a minimum, we comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Co-operation in the effective implementation of the policy is a condition of employment, partnership and supply.

Environmental responsibility

We are committed to fulfilling our share of the responsibility to keep the global temperature rise below 2° Celsius and we will continue to reduce our impact on air, land and water. We:

·       Are ‘Albert’ Registered and have started to monitor our Carbon Footprint in 2023.

·       Have stringent targets to reduce emissions from all our operations.

·       Will transition our operational fleet from traditional combustion engines to alternative forms of energy and, through collaboration with suppliers, our fleet will be more efficient through new technology.

·       Set science-based targets using ‘Albert’ to reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption, reduce the use of fossil fuel through efficiency improvements and the use of alternative and renewable sources.

·       Seek to apply the principles of environmental stewardship throughout our operations. by managing and restoring our sites (film locations and studio locations) to ensure land remains of value, implementing biodiversity net gain and safeguarding geodiversity where appropriate.

·       Use water efficiently, recycle where possible and protect water quality.

Resource use and the circular economy

We will conserve natural resources by:

·       Using resources appropriately and sustainably and, where possible, substituting primary resources with alternative materials.

·       Adopting the waste hierarchy of waste prevention, reusing of materials, recycling, co-processing and energy recovery to minimise waste disposal and maximise productivity.

Supply Chain Analysis

Outside of production, we are active in supporting organisations & industry bodies working towards a zero-carbon future. We are an affiliated member of Albert and our team have carried out carbon literacy training. Companies we support are:

·       Locamats – For location floor protection, we use Locamats as a reusable alternative to Correx or Ramboard.

·       Quantum Waste - We minimise printing, recycling & compost where possible to minimise our waste to landfill. When shooting on location, we use Quantum Waste, a socially responsible waste collection company.

·       Voltstack - Where budgets & time allow, we use Voltstack batteries instead of portable generators. However, energy efficiency depends largely on how the batteries are charged and the transport emissions involved in the delivery & collection.

·       Film First Security – our go-to security supplier with Albert affiliation.

·       Set Essentials – A sister company to Film First Security, Set Essentials supply our locations kit, and who have rigid protocols to examine their supply chain and ensure they are as carbon – aware as possible.

·       Olio - We work with Olio to distribute any leftover food from shoots to minimise food waste & help the growing number of people reliant on food donations.

·       Carbon Aware Productions – we are involved in a tree-planting program as a means to offset unavoidable carbon emissions from productions.
